Why Democrats are losers

Iraq War Surrender Bill: 2 senators that voted for it

Outrageous the Liberal media would never bury the relation and party afiliation of Harrold Ford Jr. and indicted Uncle John Ford how unthinkable!

John Ford the uncle of Harrold Ford Jr. was indicted on bribery charges Friday April 28th and as always the usual suspected liberal newspapers and media outlets rather than report the truth decided to bury the fact that John Ford was a Democrat and was the uncle of then Tennessee senate candidate Harrold Ford Jr.Of course this is nothing new for the MSM that attacks the GOP,their familiy, and friends because in their eyes it's alright to splash the Republickan's party afiliation everywhere anywhere. Another adult stem cell success story that the liberal media refuses to touch

More Good Stem Cell News That Old Media Has No Use For (You Know Why)
Posted by Tom Blumer on April 27, 2007 - 19:17.
It becomes more evident as time goes by that if a stem-cell development isn't based on embryonic research, it probably won't get the attention of the Formerly Mainstream Media.
The announcement early last week by Cellerant Therapeutics appears to involve a company more interested in advancing human health than in generating unsupported hype. Because it represents real progress, Cellerant's announcement (of course) involves adult stem cells (link to dictionary definition of "hematopoietic" added by me):
April 23, 2007 10:13 AM Eastern Daylight TimeCellerant Therapeutics Reversed Autoimmune Disease in Lupus Mice with Transplant of Purified Donor Blood Stem Cells
SAN CARLOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cellerant Therapeutics today announced the publication of data suggesting that established autoimmune disease can be reversed or stabilized by the transplantation of purified allogeneic (donated) hematopoietic (blood forming) stem cells (HSC) in a mouse study of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Subjects that underwent this procedure exhibited improved overall survival and decreased lupus symptoms. The research, led by Dr. Julie Christensen with colleagues from Cellerant and Stanford University, was published on April 13, 2007 as a First Edition Paper in the online version of the American Society of Hematology’s journal, BLOOD (Smith-Berdan et. al., DOI 10.1182/BLOOD-2007-03-081497).
“The demonstration of successful reversal of the disease using purified stem cells with non-myeloablative conditioning offers a novel strategy to treat autoimmune diseases such as lupus with decreased morbidity,” said Ramkumar Mandalam, Ph.D., Vice President of Pharmaceutical Operations. “This study also provides further support for our belief that purified stem cells may make it possible to use un-matched donors, such as a parent or non-identical sibling, for a variety of HSC treatment procedures.”
“The publication of this preclinical data further validate Cellerant’s unique use of pure hematopoietic stem cells for a wide range of therapeutic applications, including lupus and other autoimmune disorders, as well as for cancer and blood disorders,” commented Bruce Cohen, Cellerant’s President and CEO. “This finding is consistent with recent reports on successful use of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and merits evaluation of pure stem cells in treating such diseases.”
Cellerant researchers worked with specialized mice that are prone to an autoimmune condition that closely resembles human SLE. The study evaluated both non-ablative conditioning, which leaves the subject’s immune system intact, and fully myeloablative conditioning, which eradicates the subject’s immune system, prior to purified HSC treatment. Traditionally, full, and potentially lethal, myeloablative treatment was considered critical for engraftment success. The researchers found that non-ablative conditioning prior to HSC treatment was not only sufficient to ensure engraftment, but the procedure resulted in improved overall survival. The recipient subjects developed durable mixed chimerism, where the resulting immune system was a mixture of donor and recipient cells. Subjects with established autoimmune disease experienced a reversal of symptoms, including decreased appearance of proteinuria, of circulating immune complexes and of auto-antibodies to nuclear antigens.
The donors and recipients in this study were haplo-mismatched, yet successful engraftment was achieved and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) was avoided. These results suggest that using a HCT treatment that has been purified of all or most host T cells and NK cells may eliminate the need for complete donor/patient stem cell matching. T-cells were not found to be necessary for engraftment in the procedures performed.
About HSC
Cellerant's highly purified hematopoietic (blood-forming) adult stem cells are isolated from donors or patients undergoing stem cell transplants. This process is designed to provide an improved outcome when used for stem cell transplant indications where a high level of purity is desired or required. After purification, this material contains only stem and progenitor cells, with no detectable contaminating cells such as tumor cells or the T-cells which cause graft-versus-host disease in donor-to-patient transplants. Cellerant is developing hematopoietic stem cells for cancer, genetic blood disorders and autoimmune disease.
In August of last year, Advanced Cell Technology's alleged embryonic stem-cell research breakthrough (that wasn't one) that supposedly "did not harm embryos" received blanket Old Media coverage. Yet, despite real news to report, Old Media is paying no attention to Cellerant's announcement. A few different placements of Cellerant's press release from five days ago will be the only things you'll see in a Google News search.
All of this could be viewed as just a PR war, but for one thing: Companies that get favorable press coverage will tend to be more successful in obtaining funding to continue their efforts. Advanced Cell, for example, was able to get over $13.5 million in additional private financing that was directly related to its "breakthrough" announcement. Post-hype objections usually don't achieve the visibility of the original hype. Though the complaints about Advanced Cell's claims got wider coverage than usual, that coverage was dwarfed by the saturation reporting on the company's original announcement.
Since Cellerant is a private, venture-backed company, it's not possible to quickly determine what kind of financial shape the company is in. But in general, to the extent that companies like Cellerant don't get the funding that they need to continue their progress at the rate they would like because overhyped, no-results-to-date embryonic research companies and organizations are getting the attention and the capital, progress in fighting disease and advancing human health may be held back.
An exaggeration? Jennifer Clark of the Center for Arizona Policy summed up the current status of stem cell research very succinctly for Life News two weeks ago:
We know this much about embryonic stem cell research — besides the ethical concerns, not one human has received a successful treatment with them. People are being cured and treated every day with adult stem cells. It seems pretty obvious where the funding should go.
But it largely ISN'T where the funding, especially the public funding, is going.
Five or ten years from now, will we be asking ourselves how many lives that could have been saved or improved by adult and other non-embryonic stem cell research efforts were instead sacrificed because of money diverted to the black hole of embryonic stem cell research?

Bush's Haliburton meetings shouldn't be secretive+Howard Dean calling for media to be banned from Dem prez hopefuls meetings(secretive) =Hypocrisy

Democrats were heard screaming all over the globe that President Bush and Vice-President Cheney shouldn't have behind closed door or as they called it"secretive" meetings with Haliburton. A company that is currently helping in the re-building of Iraq or as Democrats see it the company that's helping Bush,Cheney and their cronies profit off the war. As I sit and listen as these cowardly defeatists demonize Haliburton on a daily basis I clearly remember how they demanded that the president make the meetings open to the public, media etc... Oh and speaking of war profiteering and being secretive notice how quiet the left and their sock puppet media have been since one of their precious members Diane Fienstein was caught red-handed(thanks to conservative bloggers) and as a result had to give up her cushie seat on the MILCOM committee because ehem one of her hubby's companies like Haliburton and the many other companies are helping in the re-building of Iraq as well.Anyway with the president 2008 candidates making their rounds(telling the voters what they stand for on each issue(Republican) dare I or anyone ask the Democrats where they stand on issues? Well according to DNC Chairman Howard Scream Mengele Democratic presidential candidates would be "frankly" about the issues with voters during meetings if the media was banned. OK Howie so it's alright for your party members who are running for the White House to hold secretive behind closed door discussions on issues that will have an effect on us,our family, friends and neighbors yet it's not ok for our president and vice-president and Haliburton to do the same thing that is perfectly legal. How about this Mr. Chairman your candidates want and need our votes to become our president in order for them to do so they must discuss all issues with the media and we the Americans who are taking in their every word and watching all their actions. And as anti-media as I am it's very sad when the DNC chairman blames the media as to why his candidates aren't honest er "frank" with us on the issues. To date there hasn't been a single Democratic presidential candidate, representative, senator, talking head or any member of the DNC that has 1. Yet to present their plans to America 2.Can't answer a simple yes or no question or any question for that matter without bring in President Bush and blaming him for what's happened EX:Even after President Bush told Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco a Democrat to call for a state of emergency during Katrina she refused to do so but yet it was Bush's fault that all the kaos caused by inept Louisiana politicians ie Ray(Chocolate City) Nagin, John Braux, Mary Landrieu etc..
3.Will never admit when they are in the wrong from lieing to committing a crime
4.Never step down from office when caught with the goods or at the very lest EX:"Dollar" Bill Jefferson Louisiana rep was caught with 90 grand stuffed in his freezer and has yet to spend any time in prison.5.Will bring up Watergate and Iran Contra Papers(Nixon and Reagan) and accuse them of being the biggest crooks that caused alot of America's political problems but then forgets er ignores the fact that Jimmy Carter sat on his hands as Iran held Americans hostages for 444 days. They also ignore Sandy Burglar who was caught stuffing 9-11 documents in his socks and jacket committed a crime that should've landed him in Leavenworth but instead plea bargained and only got community service out of it.Keep in mind President Nixon resigned only because he lied to protect peoples jobs it wasn't as if America getting blown up was at stake.6.Will refer to stories from reporters and newspapers that have been proven to constantly lie in their reporting as being a "reliable source" knowing they aren't.7.On a minute by minute basis site poll after poll on the president's approval rating from news outlets and organizations that were proven over and over to be liars.8.Will always bring up cost of Iraq war but don't mind taxpayers footing the bills of their worthless politicians office re-decorating.9.Will never say anything positive about President Bush yet say "We don't hate him just his policies!" again knowing that they truly loathe Bush in everything he does from walking to sitting.10.Refuse to admit that the media from cable news, local news, newspapers and magazines are solidly in their corner and will never expose them or their cronies yet will splash a story(ies) all over the front page or will make it their top news story. And even if it's a meaningless story like Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson that were proved to be liars over and over again. This is just a partial list of today's Democrats and what they are really about.

Scroogeacrats everywhere scream about war costs but don't mind if taxpayers foot their redecorating bill

Pay hike'skey sponsor redecorates House office
Sunday, April 22, 2007By BOB LOWRY Times Staff Writer bob.lowry@htimes.com
Newton, Black spend about $19,500 of taxpayer money

MONTGOMERY - The lawmaker who sponsored the Alabama Legislature's 62 percent pay raise and a colleague have since March 2 spent more than $19,500 in taxpayer money to redecorate their state House offices with items such as a $455 French urn lamp and a $463 pencil pedestal table.

Rep. Demetrius Newton, D-Birmingham, House speaker pro tem, purchased 82 items for his office, according to records in the House Accounting Office.

The invoices were dated March 3, March 21 and April 2. A third invoice, not yet recorded, was for a wall-mounted 20-inch plasma LCD television set purchased for $278.

The payments were made to B. Barganier Interior Accents in Montgomery.

Some of the more expensive items for Newton's office included six chairs, four of them leather, totaling $2,782; artwork totaling $2,165; three mirrors for $759; a settee for $495; a Manhattan table for $480; and a nickel-plated table for $373.

Other items include a plant with iron urn, $198; oval planter, $198; wood box, $173; porcelain jar, $173; tulip bowl, $123; glass and brass box, $123; a box, $90; magazine holder, $81; tissue box holder, $67; standing Buddha, $33; and two porcelain dog figures, $40.

Newton, who sponsored the March 8 resolution to raise lawmakers' pay to $49,500 a year, said he decided to "do a little redecorating" because his office "was the pits and we have a lot of visitors coming in here."

An attorney for the City of Birmingham, Newton became the first black elected speaker pro tem in 1998. At that time, he became the first speaker pro tem to be assigned a state car and a driver.

The Senate president pro tem, Sen. Hinton Mitchem, D-Union Grove, also has a state car and driver.

Newton said he didn't know the cost of the redecoration of his 360-square-foot office, but he began thinking about redoing his office after Rep. Marcel Black, D-Tuscumbia, began redecorating his office across the hall.

"My secretary asked me if she could try to do something here, and I told her, 'Yes,' and she did the decorating," Newton said. "I wouldn't know what anything cost. I have no idea, but we have to stay within our little budget and that was done. I don't know where the $11,000 figure came from - I doubt it (the amount) very seriously."

The work on Black's office was done by Lisa Franklin, an interior designer for B. Barganier

When Franklin married a short time later and became Lisa Peavey, she worked on Newton's office. At that time she also became the daughter-in-law of House deputy clerk Joy Murphy and Senate public relations director Mike Murphy.

Newton, who has been a House member since 1986, said he didn't know how much money is in his office budget.

"The clerk approves things we need from time to time, and he tells us what we can do and what we can't do," he said. "I'm not in the budgeting process and I don't ever really know what the budgeting process is for us."

Newton said if his office needs something, he simply checks with House Clerk Greg Pappas.

Pappas said Newton and Black, as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, have annual budgets between $25,000 to $30,000.

Other committees with similar funding, which is lumped under the clerk's office, include the Education Appropriations Committee, Government Appropriations Committee and Rules Committee.

The chairmen of those committees, Reps. Richard Lindsey, D-Centre; Rep. John Knight, D-Montgomery; and Rep. Ken Guin, D-Carbon Hill; have not made those type of expenditures, according to the House Budget Office.

"They can't buy coffee or food with it, but they can buy office supplies and furniture," said Pappas.

As to how they spend it, Pappas said, "It's not my call. All I am is the paying authority. I sign the paperwork."

House Speaker Seth Hammett did not return calls from The Times to his office and home in Andalusia seeking comment. Black spent $7,707.25 on 44 items to redecorate his office.

The major expenditures for Black's office included $2,227 for artwork, $463 for a pencil pedestal table, $900 for two armchairs, $608 for two lamps, $463 for a cart wheel, $173 for a tea caddy, $120 for two terra cotta urns and $98 for bookends.

Black, an attorney, said it was the first money he had spent to redecorate his office in the 16 years he has been in the Legislature. Previously, he said, his only purchases were for a copy machine and a fax machine.

"I don't think it (the amount) is unheard of," he said. "I updated it to make it look nice for people."

Black said his secretary worked with the interior designer to refurbish his 312-square-foot office.

"I'd been procrastinating and then I decided some time around the first of the year to go ahead and do it," he said.

Rep. Mike Hubbard, R-Auburn, the chairman of the Alabama Republican Party and the House minority leader, said he was "shocked" at the expenditures. I don't think the taxpayers are going to look too kindly on it," he said. "It doesn't give the taxpayers much confidence that the Legislature is spending its money wisely."

Hubbard said all of the furnishings in his office are simple desks and chairs provided by the state for all lawmakers.

"I'm just shocked that taxpayer dollars are used for Jess Brown, a political science professor at Athens State University, said the amount of the expenditures "may not be a big deal," but the public could view it differently because of the pay raise.

"The timing on this is just horrible from the standpoint of the Legislature," he said. "It couldn't be worse timing."

Because of their leadership positions in the House, Brown said, Newton and Black are entitled to "a reasonable, nice and functional office."

But he said many taxpayers will wonder whether the two lawmakers used good judgment in purchasing some of the "very pricey items."

"The voter disgust will be at a very high level. I see voter rage," he said. "This is not a Democratic thing or a Republican thing. This is across the board. It's tough to look at that list and conclude that that's beyond the pale of how public money should be expended."

Brown, a one-time lobbyist for the City of Huntsville and the University of Alabama in Huntsville, said the expenditures by Newton's office average out to roughly $33 per square foot.

"I doubt the typical Alabamian would spend $33,000 to put urns and artwork in half of a 2,000-square-foot house," he said. "Maybe a millionaire would."

More proof the that the liberal either refuses to report or skews poll results to help Democrats

Of course this is nothing new here's the story:

Swann's way

Former Pittsburgh Steelers great Lynn Swann gained only 40 percent of the vote when he ran for governor of Pennsylvania last year. However in the Pennsylvania's fourth congressional district, located in the Pittsburgh area, he outpolled his Democratic opponent with a 52 percent share. Meanwhile, the incumbent Republican representative in that district, Melissa Hart, went down to defeat. Democrat Jason Altmire won with 52 percent of the vote. Altmire also has football credentials -- he was a member of the Florida State team.

Salena Zito in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Swann is considering running for the Fourth District seat. Former Representative Hart says she may try to win the seat back, so if Swann enters the race the two may face off.

Larry Sabato says a Swann-Altmire race would be very competitive. He notes that Swann "has high name ID and the ability to raise a good deal of money." Swann's strong showing in the district last year, in a campaign where he spent little money in the Pittsburgh market, suggests that Sabato is correct.

Another liberal who sees the light

Tish Derkin has a great report that she wrote on Iraq and get this she's a card carrying anti-war liberal but unlike the rest of the Bush-hating media liberal reporters she sees the full picture of why we went into Iraq it's a great piece!
Tish Durkin on Iraq:
Whatever you think of the rest of this post, please do not write in to impress upon me the horrors that have descended upon innocent Iraqis since the American-led invasion. I really feel that I know.

I know other things too, though. Maybe it's just the contrarian in me, but it is these other things that I feel the need to stress, especially to those who are now reveling in their rightness about the war. Those who opposed the war seem to feel that they are the perfect opposite of those who sold the war - and of course, in the important sense of the invade-or-not-to-invade question, they are. But in their collective allergy to any fact that may complicate their position; their proud blindness to the color gray, and their fervent faith in their own infallibility, the two sides have always struck me as very much the same.

Don't get me wrong. If I felt that this post were going to be read by a bunch of war apologists, I would take them angrily to task for the manifest, manifold failures in Iraq, and the criminally self-indulgent fictions on which those failures were based. But since this post is presumably being read mostly by war critics, I will devote it to challenging anti-war activists on their apparent belief that everything they say about Iraq is, always has been, and ever shall be true.

It is not, for instance, true that it was the American-led invasion that opened season on the slaughter of innocent Iraqi civilians. Whatever else the Bush administration made up about Iraq, the rank murderousness of Saddam Hussein was not one of them. Amid the gunfire and giddiness of Baghdad right after its fall in April 2003, it was common to find people converging onto bits of infrastructure, manically fueled by the rumor mill: someone had said that there was a torture chamber underneath this stretch of highway; a secret prison built into this wall. People had no time to be interviewed; if they talked at all, they'd keep going as they panted: "My husband/brother/son disappeared twenty odd years ago; he could still be alive; I have to get him out." I remember going to a mass grave; a "minor" one, not far from Hilla. People were digging there, too: for bones, which were piled everywhere, a sickening canine bonanza. Close by there still lived a man who had seen what had happened there in the days after the war with Kuwait, but kept his mouth shut for years: busloads of innocent Shi'ites, screaming 'God is Great' at the top of their lungs, had been unloaded, rung around pre-dug graves, and shot.

David Gregory deserves applause

Ok so David Gregory is another liberal news twit that tries to fit 5 questions into one at White House press conferrences and yes he can't stand President Bush and his administration but this time the devil deserves his due.During all this time concerning the racist remarks made by Don Imus nobody and I mean nobody has had the guts to question Al Sharpton about Tawana Brawley until now. This is where I give kudos to Mr. Gregory. Here we have Imus a white male who made inexusable racist meamarks apologizing all over God's creation however, the main ones who are making the most political noise about it is none other than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who in the past have made racist remarks that were far worse. I believe the word(s) Jesse Jackson used while in NYC was Himieytown a word he used while talking about Jews and what he referred to NYC as and he's since than apologized which is surprising since he very rarely does it if any at all. Then we have Al Sharpton in Tawanagate. For those of you who aren't familiar with that story here is a link:

Moronic liberals and their media suffer from BDS(Bush Derrangement Syndrome) so bad they see Sleestacks

This video which I just viewed is in my view the best I've seen yet.In it pro-war Americans question freshly new Congressman Paul Hodes of New Hampshire who was part of the 218 congressional members that helped get Pelosi's "Cut and Run"(US soldier withdrawl from Iraq) bill. A very unconstitutional bill that now looks like it will have send the message to the terrosts that until they give up we the United States will fight alongside the Iraqis until they do.

As the liberals and their sockpuppet media make political hay out of this photo of Karl Rove that was purposely doctored-up to solidify even more that the unhinged left are truly naive and loathe President Bush and anyone connected to him with a passion. And it's to a point that they refuse to have any good news about Iraq, economy etc.. Anything that this president does positive they will find reason to downplay it. The above photo is the legit photo and the other is the doctored -up photo that the fanatic left got their Fruit of the Looms in a wad over. Have a good laugh I know I did and I'm sure our president and Karl Rove did.

Another reason to reject liberalism:Nipper RCA's 100 year logo dog gets dumped and replaced by plasictine dog Gromit

I have never watched a Wallace and Gromit show so I'm not going to go down the road of criticising the show whose plasictine dog Gromit thanks to the liberally correct crowd has replaced Nipper RCA'S famous 100 year old logo dog.First they killed Captian America now they're way beyond having bats in their bellfrey by this tototally moronic move. And the only reason they give is "to attract youger customers."Apparently the decision makers at RCA like many other companies who changed to "attract younger customers" 1.Don't give a hoot about their everyday clientel including their"younger customers" 2.
