I sat on my couch this morning drinking my coffee thinking about what I needed to get done on my two days off before heading back to work. After eating breakfast, I picked up our Huntsville Times newspaper off the coffee table to read the latest news editorials especially seeing that my main hobbies are writing,blogging and soon to be pod casting "if" there's a letter that needed answering I would do so. After opening the paper to see the day's headline my jaw hung open the Huntsville Times actually had the courage to print a story about a pro-Iraq soldier who was injured in Iraq but is now healed and ready to return on it's front page making it the main headline. Grant that this paper doesn't come near the infamous New York Times that also had to admit success was taking place in Iraq but clearly it is another branch of the DNC propaganda machine. However,Iraq success stories like this they've printed mostly buried but at least they reported them where as most media outlets either didn't ,downplayed them or twisted them to suit their liberal agenda.

20-year-old hurt in Iraq receives hero's welcome

Pfc. Jessica Newey may have gotten a hero's welcome home, but the small American flags and red, white and blue balloons made her homesick for another type of family in another kind of world.

Newey, a soldier with the Alabama National Guard's 128th Military Police Company, came home Thursday after leaving a military hospital in Fort Bragg, N.C.

I'm proud to be home, but I'm ready to get back out there," said Newey, who was wounded in Iraq two months ago.

The 20-year-old Huntsville native received head wounds when roadside bombs and rocket-propelled grenades struck the military vehicle she was in.

Newey was evacuated from Iraq and taken to Germany for treatment.

Her arrival here was a pleasant surprise to her mother, Rachel Gentle. Newey had been scheduled to go home for a few weeks, but Gentle got a call Thursday morning that her daughter had plane tickets for a flight to Huntsville later that day.

Gentle said her daughter has been faring well, with the exception of occasional bouts of nausea caused by the head injuries.

"I'm confident that she'll get the best possible care now that she's home," Gentle said.

Newey was deployed last October and spent nine months in Iraq as one of 100 soldiers in the 128th who were training Iraqi volunteers to become police officers.

Newey told The Times last year that she wanted to become a Huntsville police officer one day, and she's one step closer with her reassignment to Redstone Arsenal.

Despite the warm welcome home, Newey said she can't forget the men and women she worked so hard to protect during war.

"I kind of wish I was still over there because they're part of me now."

A phony company created by the FBI netted nearly a dozen officials -- including Passaic Mayor Sammy Rivera and Assemblyman Alfred E. Steele -- who were arrested this morning in a widespread corruption sting.
Those charged are accused of demanding and accepting cash bribes to influence the awarding of contracts for roofing and insurance services by school districts and municipalities, according to criminal complaints unsealed with the arrests.
The defendants — a collection of mayors, state legislators, and school board officials from Atlantic, Essex and Passaic counties — are to appear in federal court at 1:30 p.m. in Trenton.
They include Steele, who is also a Passaic County undersheriff, Passaic city Councilman Marcellus Jackson and former Passaic city Councilman Jonathan Soto. Steele is also the pastor at Seminary Baptist Church in Paterson and has been in the state Assembly since 1996. He has served as deputy speaker since 2002.
Dubbed “Operation Broken Boards,” the investigation began in mid-2006 with evidence of corruption in the Pleasantville school district. The FBI established an undercover insurance brokerage company with two cooperating witnesses.
Pleasantville School Board members allegedly took thousands of dollars in bribes from the cooperating witnesses, one of whom had previously operated a separate roofing business.
The circle of corruption widened when certain Pleasantville school board members referred the cooperating witnesses to public officials in northern New Jersey who also took bribes and, in turn, put the contractor in touch with still other corrupt public officials, the complaints allege.
Federal authorities say the defendants demanded and accepted payments ranging from $1,500 to $17,500 at a time. In most cases, those charged sought to establish and perpetuate a corrupt relationship with the cooperating witnesses to continue receiving bribes, the complaints say.
U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie and FBI Special Agent in Charge Weysan Dun have scheduled a 3:30 p.m. press conference in Trenton to discuss the case.
Also arrested were Orange Mayor and the Democratic state Assemblyman Mims Hackett Jr. The chief of staff to Newark’s City Council president was also arrested, as were five current and former Pleasantville school board members.
Jenna Pollard, who answered the phone at Steele's Paterson office and identified herself as his chief of staff, said she had no comment and didn't know if Steele has a lawyer.
The arrests are the latest in an anti-corruption campaign waged by Christie's office.
Two Democratic senators, Wayne Bryant of Lawnside and Sharpe James of Newark, are facing pending federal corruption charges. Both pleaded not guilty.
More than 100 public officials in the state have been convicted on federal corruption charges in the last five years.

The first two photos are dated by Reuters at different times while the last is the recent one and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Reuters is up to it's ole anti-war propaganda tricks again.

Saturday while I was holding a sign at Whitesburg Drive and Airport Road, a man getting in his car in the parking lot said something to me about "defacing the flag" and pointed to the people across the street.

I didn't see any American flag that was defaced. There were two peace flags, one of which had small peace signs in the blue area and the other had one big peace sign.

This man shut his door and drove away without waiting for a response.

So, to educate him: The American flag has 50 small white stars in the blue area of the flag.

President Bush repeatedly defaced American flags by autographing them on July 23, 2003 for workers at Beaver Aerospace and Defense in Livonia, Mich. (Rather ironic since he'd just supported a new "flag desecration amendment" making it a crime to desecrate a flag.)

Was he arrested for the crime? No.

On Sept. 11, 2006, the Bushes stood on a rug of the American flag honoring the Sept. 11, 2001 victims. Any arrest or media comment here? No.

Then a woman from the same parking lot told me that I "should not be on that street corner across from those (male) veterans." She shut her door and drove away quickly.

She obviously couldn't read. My sign clearly stated: "Served 25 years (Navy 1973-1998) have you? I believe 25 years in the Navy qualifies me as a veteran even if I am a female!

Assembly Democrats' progressive caucus members in 2003 were caught plotting a scheme to raise taxes or "precipitate a crisis" as suggested by Democratic progressive caucus Los Angeles member Fabian Nunez who along with fellow Assemblywoman member Jackie Goldberg who suggested during one of the meetings that "If ther'es going to be a crisis, the crisis should be this year." "What you do is you show people that you can't get to this without a 55 percent vote." Even after being caught in the act Goldberg lied and said after the meeting they were simply discussing issues and that the 10 members came to no agreement on how they would vote. GIRL'S BODY 'MINCED IN KEBAB MACHINE'

A TAKE AWAY boss chopped up a teenage girl and minced her body in a kebab machine, a court has heard.

Mohammed Reveshi, 50, admitted getting rid of Charlene Downes's body in tapes made by police, it's claimed.

They were played to a murder trial yesterday and the prosecution say they prove Charlene, 14, was killed and butchered.

Reveshi is alleged to have disposed of her body after fellow Blackpool takeaway owner Iyad Albattikhi, 30, killed her.

Reveshi is accused of saying to Albattikhi: "Her big bones went into the machine as well ..."

The defence say the tapes are inconclusive. Charlene disappeared in November 2003 and her body has never been found.


Jordanian Albattikhi, who owned Funny Boyz takeaway in Blackpool, denies murder. Business partner Reveshi denies disposing of the body.


The trial at Preston Crown Court continues.

A New York Times best-selling author says members of the supposed "peace movement" delivered hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and supplies to terrorists engaged in a bloody street battle against United States Marines in Iraq.

The latest book by Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson (U.S. Air Force-Ret.) is called War Crimes: The Left's Campaign to Destroy Our Military and Lose the War on Terror. In the book, he claims that two anti-war groups -- "United for Peace & Justice" and "CODEPINK: Women for Peace" -- literally gave aid and comfort to terrorists when they delivered $600,000 in cash and supplies they claim was humanitarian aid to civilians.

According to Patterson, Congressman Henry Waxman (D-California) facilitated the transaction for CODEPINK by signing a letter allowing them to get the cash and supplies into Fallujah.

"Here is an American Congressman .... Here are American citizens who belong to these organizations," says Patterson. "They travel to Iraq and they are materially supporting, they are aiding and abetting the enemy that is killing American Marines. If that's not treason, nothing is."

Patterson says that is not the only treacherous thing these groups have done. "When the Iraq war first started, CODEPINK and Medea Benjamin went to Baghdad and opened an office designed to try to encourage American soldiers to desert, go AWOL, and not fight the war," he explains. "Again, that's aiding and abetting the enemy."

The author laments that the story has received virtually no coverage by the U.S. media.

I am in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at a large southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic and income levels.

Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, etc., where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.

Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program. Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc., etc., etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?

To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.

Higher insurance, medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc, etc. For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.

We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it.
Does anyone in their right mind really think they will voluntarily leave and return?

There are many hardworking Hispanic/American citizens that contribute to our country and many that I consider my true friends. We should encourage and accept those Hispanics who have done it the right and legal way.

It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate, and an American culture that has become so weak and worried about "politically correct" that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.

He requires bilingual teachers and books.

He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.

If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled, they qualify for SSI. Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare. All of this is at (our) taxpayer's expense.

He doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.

Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.

He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in benefits.

Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour left after paying their bills and his.

The American taxpayers also pay for increased crime, graffiti and trash clean-up.

My Encounter with Bill & Hillary Clinton

It was lunchtime on a fine day in late spring when I left my office at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at the Fairchild Building on South Capitol Street in Washington, D.C. I walked up Ivy Street past the Headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. I noticed a limo in the street in front of the headquarters and instantly recognized Bill Clinton, then Governor of Arkansas, standing in the street. Of course you know I had the good manners to keep on moving, and not just stop and stare at the spectacle which was visible to everyone in the office building behind the three of us. I realize that will be hard for screeching socialists to accept, since if they were in a similar encounter with one of the Bush's they might have begun protesting, or throwing pies.

Could it be that during their time inside the headquarters Bill was getting chatty with the receptionists? I can't answer for that. I can only relate what I know to be a fact.

I was too embarrassed to do much but avert my eyes and keep on walking. And no doubt, the not so subtle message I witnessed was being telegraphed to those watching inside the building: "I saved this campaign, and you owe me. You better wise up. Cross me and you are toast!"

Every eyewitness account I've heard or read since regarding the nature of Mrs. Clinton's personality has only confirmed what I saw that day when the three of us shared a moment on Ivy Street, one fine spring day.

I realize that many of our Democrat "friends" choose to be ignorant about the real nature of this woman, just as many seem to have forgotten the Clinton era concern expressed by every senior member of their party on the dangers of Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

For those of you who've never heard of Nathan Bedford Forrest here's a description of him:

Nathaniel Bedford Forrest (July 13, 1821–October 29, 1877) was a Confederate Army general during the American Civil War. Perhaps the most highly regarded cavalry and partisan (guerrilla) leader in the war, Forrest is regarded by many military historians as that conflict's most innovative and successful general. His tactics of mobile warfare are still studied by modern soldiers. Forrest is also one of the war's most controversial figures. Although he was accused of war crimes at the Battle of Fort Pillow for having led Confederate soldiers in an alleged massacre of unarmed black Union troops, the accusation was later disproven by an 1871 Congressional investigation.

After the war he was alleged to have participated in the founding of the Ku Klux Klan. Despite rumors that he was the first Grand Wizard of the Klan, the Congressional investigation of the Klan in 1871, which included several former Confederate generals, undertaken by Radical Republicans concluded that Forrest did not found the Klan, was not its leader, did not participate in its activities and worked to have it disbanded.[citation needed]

Mr. Forrest clearly a was a life long Democrat and huge racist and is also one of the founders of the KKK who crowned him Grand Wizard but you didn't hear this from the liberal media that suggested Senator Lott was a racist because of a statement taken out of context then made racist from his statement during Senator Thurmond's 100th birthday. It was in the KKK'S magazine "The Kourier Magazine" during 1928 on page 21 that Nathan Forrest wrote these words:

"I have never voted for any man who wasn't a regular Democrat. My father... never voted for any man who wasn't a Democrat. My grandfather was head of the Ku Klux Klan in reconstruction days... My great-grandfather was a life-long Democrat... My great-grandfather was... one of the founders of the Democratic party."

When we see Democrats campaign we see them usually in front of cameras with blacks surrounding them even after seeing and hearing endless stories of how this group of dysfunctional people that are die hard racists that utilize blacks just to get their votes. There's a book out called A Short History of Reconstruction and the author is Dr. Eric Foner a prominant liberal historian I'm going to buy it and I urge all of you to do the same.

An Alabama State Trooper stopped a

A young Private on leave stopped at a local restaurant following a day roaming around in Mexico ....

While sipping his tequila, he noticed a sizzling, scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table. Not only did it look good, the smell was wonderful. He asked the waiter, "What is that you just served?"

The waiter replied, "Ah senor, you have excellent taste! Those are called Cojones de Toro, bull's testicles from the bull fight this morning. A delicacy!"

The Private said, "What the heck, bring me an order."

The waiter replied, "I am so sorry senor. There is only one serving per day because there is only one bull fight each morning. If you come early and place your order, we will be sure to save you this delicacy."

The next morning, the Private returned, placed his order, and that evening was served the one and only special delicacy of the day. After a few bites, inspecting his platter, he called to the waiter and said, "These are delicious, but they are much, much smaller than the ones I saw you serve yesterday."

The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Si,Senor. Sometimes the bull wins.

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE. (Not that any of you are!)

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said "no". Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just shot them all." Then he hung up.

Within minutes three police cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"
